This Sunday, we will publish the fourth installment of an occasional series about the Affordable Care Act and how it impacts the people of Southwest Virginia.
The latest installment looks at the work of so-called navigators, whose job it is to educate the public about the new health care law and help them enroll for the benefits it provides. We will also preview the launch next Tuesday of an insurance marketplace where people with low to moderate incomes can shop for insurance at susidized rates.
Previous parts of the Understanding Obamacare series have examined a proposed expansion of Medicaid in Virginia, the insurance marketplace, and the individual mandate, which requires nearly all Americans to have health insurance by next year or pay a tax penalty.
You can see the series here.
