Producer Notes: The MusicCast is back, shooting live video at Jake Dempsey's Red Room studio in Roanoke. To kick off, we bring one of the best rap groups in Southwest Virginia, if not the whole state. Stevie D and Big Perm's rhymes will crack you up, but Illbotz flow is no joke. DJ Samson kills the tables. These guys are going to get lucky one day and write something that goes nationwide. Till then, you can see the 'botz perform plenty around Roanoke. |

Updated July 2: Some things never change. The spectacle of fireworks on the Fourth of July. The joys of a three-day weekend. Or, the five most popular videos on the MusicCast. For the third week in a row, Mike Roos has the most-played video on the MusicCast with "Blacksburg," his song about the Virginia Tech shootings. And all the others stay the same, too, although the order changes a bit. Two songs by The Seed switch places. A third one moves up, and Jimmy Danger, featuring Neanderpaul, falls to No. 5 ("Nothing But Wrong" had been No. 1 a few weeks ago.) Don't agree with any of these? Hey, don't look at us. We base the MusicCast Top 5 on who gets the most plays so if there's someone you like, just keep on clicking. If you think your band's video should be in the Top 5, well, post it to our site, and maybe it will be. The top three videos this week are ones the artists recorded themselves. Details are below. Here’s the week's Top 5: 1. "Blacksburg," by Mike Roos2. "No More," by The Seed 3. "Can You Understand," by The Seed 4. "A New Season," by The Seed" 5. "Nothing But Wrong," by Jimmy Danger, featuring Neanderpaul Next update coming: July 9. Next band coming to the MusicCast: Maybe yours, if you submit a video.
