March 21, 2008The SeedThe Seed, purveyors of reggae, Latin and world music, have two consecutive wins in The Roanoke Times music poll's best local band category. The band has just finished its first CD, and will celebrate with a CD release party April 11 at 202 Market. The band members are great musicians and a lot of fun to work with. We caught up with them for a live studio recording. July 17, 2007Sabotage ManualRecorded July 9, 2007 Producer Notes: I knew Mike, the vocalist for Sabotage Manual, from his old band Fire At Will. We used to play shows together in different bands, so when these guys came to the studio I knew it would be fun. I also recognized Adam, the bassist, from his other band The Makeout. These guys have a great attitude, are multi-talented and practice a very mature sense of DIY ethics, so I wouldn't be surprised if their hard work pays off in the near future. Kevin left the Roanoke valley for Richmond back in 2006, and at the beginning of 2007 left the east coast for the more musically friendly city of Portland. We wish him the best of luck, and appreciate his laid back attitude and willingness to help out some lowly webcasters. Chris is not just a good guitarist and songwriter, he's an all around funny guy. Check out his TimesCast appearances to get a better idea. That's why when they visited the MusicCast studio, they made use of almost all of our cheesy props. Watch as throughout their performance the lose the crazy hats and jackets to bring the rock.
