Although I must admit I was a little surprised to see a trumpet in the forefront, fine musicianship shows through as they play off of each other expertly. A few traditionals pop in among their list of originals, which keeps things fresh. See more Virginia Folk Jazz Trio |

Updated August 6: It's shake-up time. For weeks (eight of nine, in fact), The Seed claimed the top sot on our MusicCast. But, as their song says, "No More." Now it's more like a different No. 1 song every week. This week, "Demijohn" by the Pickin Buds out of Franklin County claims the crown, up from the fourth spot last week. "Demijohn" has been No. 1 before -- but then again, so have most of these songs at one point or another. So what will be the favorite music video on the MusicCast next week? You tell us.We base the MusicCast Top 5 on who gets the most plays -- so if there's someone you like, just keep on clicking. If you think your band's video should be in the Top 5, well, post it to our site, and maybe it will be. Many of these are videos the artists shot themselves and sent in to us. Details are below. Here’s the week's Top 5: 1. "Demijohn," by the Pickin Buds2. "Burned Out Car" by Red Clay River 3. "Oxycontin Rock," by the Roanoke Allstars 4. "Can You Understand," by The Seed 5. "No More," by The Seed and "Blacksburg," by Mike Roos (tie) Next update coming: August 13 Next band coming to the MusicCast: Maybe yours, if you submit a video.
