I was a recent Wahoo grad who moved to Blacksburg and found as much love, acceptance and community in Virginia Tech as I ever had at my alma mater. To me, VT isn't just some place where a terrible thing happened. It's a place with a crazy mascot I still don't understand.

It's a place where you could get a ticket for *thinking* about parking illegally. It's a place I could run through with my dog, undisturbed, at any time of the year. It still is all those things. What happened is horrific and unfair. What would also be unfair is to let the events of April 16, 2007, define Virginia Tech.
