Eric Cantor lays out his argument at “Bearing Drift”
Influential Virginia Congressman Eric Cantor, R-Henrico County, has risen to prominence the last few years as the House Minority Whip. He’s also, along with Paul Ryan and Kevin McCarthy, authored a book that outlines a strategy to win and establish a long-term conservative majority in Washington, DC.
He also published a guest column for Bearing Drift yesterday that lays out his thoughts on the midterm elections a little less than a month from now:
On November 2nd voters in Virginia and across the country, will be able to choose between two contrasting visions. As Americans make their decision, I urge them to consider the following question: What kind of government works for America?
Is it an ever-expanding government that seeks more and more control over the economy and our destinies through excessive regulation, higher taxation, wealth redistribution and the penalization of success? Or is it a limited government that inspires economic growth and job creation through the promotion of entrepreneurship, individual opportunity and free markets?
Cantor guest-hosted CNBC’s “Squawk Box” this morning too. Expect to see him assume even more of a prominent role should the Republicans take the House next month.

It’s nice to see the young (gun) republicans gut their leaders and step over the bodies to assume a more prominent role.
Ah yes, the long-term conservative majority. Seems that lots of folks were predicting a permanent Republican majority back in 1994 and then again in the early 2000s. In fact, I seem to remember talk of a permanent Repub majority in the GA following the gerrymandering in 2000.
There will be no long-term conservative majority unless Cantor and cronies are “fixing” the system because once people see a right-wing government, they realize they made a BIG mistake.
