Smith schedules announcement on Thursday

Ralph Smith

So where will Sen. Ralph Smith, R-Botetourt, be running this fall, and for what?

You’ll recall that the redistricting plan passed by the General Assembly puts him in a district with fellow Republican Steve Newman of Lynchburg, and that Smith has promised to move elsewhere.

Looks like we’ll find out Thursday. He’s sent out this email today:

You are invited to join

Senator Ralph Smith
Congressman Bob Goodlatte
Congressman Morgan Griffith

and other regional leaders for a very special announcement
regarding the 2011 General Assembly Elections

Thursday, May 19
5:30 p.m.
Roanoke County Administration Building
5204 Bernard Drive, Roanoke

  1. I’m willing to bet he is moving again and running for the 19th senate seat.
