Bachmann speaks at Liberty; Cain coming to Richmond

The procession of Republican presidential candidates in Virginia continues.

Today, Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota addressed Liberty University students at a campus-wide convocation. Texas Gov. Rick Perry visited the Lynchburg campus earlier this month.

Next month, former Godfather’s Pizza CEO  Herman Cain will be the keynote speaker at the Family Foundation of Virginia’s annual gala. Cain grabbed some headlines over the weekend by winning a presidential straw poll in Florida. The Family Foundation noted Cain’s appearance at the Oct. 8 gala is personal rather than political and does not represent an endorsement by the  organization.

  1. Surprise! surprise! surprise! another Republican speaking at Liberty U.
They never invite Democrats. This looks bad for a so called Christian University. The Falwell’s need to practice what they preach.

  2. Bachmann said keep the federal govenment out of bankng (among other entities). Where would our country be today if George Bush had not stepped in September 2008 and bailed out the Banks from the financial mess they had created with their bad credit decisions and greed since the deregulation of Banks? In the early days of our country children were working in factories, people were paid next to nothing and forced to work long days in order to keep their jobs. Have people really forgotton what happens when Big Banks, Big Business, Insurance Companies, Medical Facilities, and Utility Companies are not regulated?

  3. “Big Banks, Big Business, Insurance Companies, Medical Facilities, and Utility Companies are not regulated?”

Yes it is called free enterprise and it is what built this country. Less govt. equals more jobs.
