Bolling touts support ahead of critical state party vote

Bill Bolling

Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling is touting the support of more than 100 Republican activists for his 2013 gubernatorial campaign, just three days before the party’s governing body decides whether to change the GOP nominating process for next year’s statewide elections.

The state GOP’s state central committee will meet Friday in Richmond to decide whether to scrap plans for an open primary and instead hold a convention. Bolling wants to party to stick to its plans for a primary. His rival for the GOP nomination, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, prefers a convention.

“During my 20 years in elected office I have fought for conservative values and established a strong conservative record of results,” Bolling said in a news release. “Now, I am ready to lead Virginia as Governor. I’m proud to have the support of these grassroots Republican leaders from all across the Commonwealth.  Their endorsement is representative of the broad support my campaign enjoys from conservative leaders in Virginia, including Governor Bob McDonnell. With their support I will continue working hard to provide common sense, conservative leadership for the people of Virginia.”

Read on for the full list of supporters, which includes current and former party leaders from the Roanoke and New River valleys.

Thanks for the list, Bolling. Now we have a clear list of who the major Establishment cronies are and who to replace.

Talk about a who’s who list of establishment RINOS…….this is really the list of people that actually plan to vote for Bolling……

This is the list of relatively sane Republicans. The far out nuts will be on the Cooch’s list. And the people on this list have been cowed by the others to move to much more extreme right positions.

Wow Dave, a list of sane Republicans? Were you referring to Bobby May who has been condemned by Bob McDonnell and John McCain but embraced by Bill Bolling? voices.washingtonpost.com/virginiapolitics/2008/10/mcdonnell_condemns_bobby_may.html Or maybe you were speaking of Gene Bishop who once said the up side to having more women in leadership positions in the GOP was they could be required to cook meals for the party meetings.

    swvaboy

Please note my qualifying word “relatively” sane. There is a certain amount of insanity inherent in being a member of today’s Republican party.
