Republican contest for lt. governor getting crowded
At this rate, it soon could be easier to list the Republicans who are not running for lieutenant governor.
State Sen. Steve Martin, R-Chesterfield County, is on the verge of making his candidacy official, reports Julian Walker of the Virginian-Pilot. Martin would join state Del. Scott Lingamfelter of Prince William County and Prince William County Board of Supervisors Chairman Corey Stewart as official candidates.
But several Republicans who attended last week’s GOP convention in Richmond said they expect a much deeper field of candidates for the number-two spot on the party’s 2013 ticket. The party will nominate its ticket in a convention next year.



Maybe they can have a series of “debates” a la the recent GOP comedy tour which kept us so entertained all through the winter and spring and resulted in so many great skits and pieces on SNL and The Daily Show.
All the local Va. TV stations could chip in together and hire an ensemble crew to develop a show which they could air during their 6AM news slots to brighten up eveerybody’s moprning and send them off to work laughing.
