CNN airs highlights of Virginia Senate debate

There was no live television coverage of Saturday’s U.S. Senate debate at The Homestead , but CNN did air excerpts of the clash between Republican George Allen and Democrat Tim Kaine on its Sunday “State of the Union” program. The show’s host, Candy Crowley, was the moderator of Saturday’s debate.

I remember following an out of control tractor trailer from Radford to Roanoke in the not so distant past. After nearly being hit myself and watching as it came very close to running cars off of the road at speeds in excess of 75 mph, I called the State Police(twice). They assured me that they would dispatch an officer as soon as one became available. Between Exits 105 and 145, in neither the North bound or Southbound lanes was an officer of the State Police to be found…NOT ONE SINGLE CRUISER IN AN HOUR…EITHER SIDE OF I -81..I also passed 2 CLOSED Rest Stops in this nightmare….The SAFETY of the citizens of VIRGINIANS were at an all time low… Va. Rest Stops shutting down…State Police force diminished…..Governor at this time ? TIM KAINE

#1 Wow, Jeff, that’s proof positive that Tim Kaine was terrible!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to have to point this out to you, but if you want to cut the state budget, everybody gets cut. Yes, even the state police. And the rest areas should have stayed closed.

And we’re still waiting for Bobby McD’s promised solution to infrastructure funding.
