“The Daily Show” mocks spat over Obama’s Roanoke remarks

The sniping over a snippet of President Barack Obama’s July 13 Roanoke campaign speech has become fodder for comedians. On last night’s episode of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” Lewis Black exploited it  for this colorful rant about campaign ads.

Jon Stewart for President! Jon can always be counted on to put American politics in perspective ~ ridiculously stupid, yet funny!

This clip from the people who did everything to take out Hilary, Gingrich, Santorum, & every other better candidate.

John Stewart has noone to blame for the poor choices except himself.

Pray for our President…. Psalm 109:08

The difference is that Obama said “You didn’t build that” Romney said “You didn’t get here without support.” No, I didn’t personally pave the road in front of my business, but know that my taxes and the taxes of every other business on the street (over)paid for it.

Another Bob (and other ‘Christians’) should put that verse into context…that Psalm is calling for someone’s death (read the subsequent verses and it’s clear). Just what Jesus would have us do, right?

#5 – As most all polictal commentary, it was meant to be taken out of context. Which is why verse 8 was the only one quoted.

That’s one thing politics and the Bible have in common…it’s easy to take words out of context to suit your own agenda. There are people from my church who have this bumper sticker on their cars & trucks. Lately I’ve been biting my tongue to keep from asking if they really want Obama dead, or they just didn’t do their homework and exegete that passage.

if you read the preceding lines in Psalm 109:1-31 the meaning is clear, and fitting for the situation. The psalm is a plea to God to assist David when “the wicked slander [him] and tell lies about [him]” (Psalm 109:02). The passages after verse 6 through 19 are quotes of what the wicked say against David.

#4 And who said this, David?

“The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together.”

If you don’t know, you’ve REALLY been taken in. Why do people who hate Obama always leave this part out?

#8 (John), are you referring to all the lies the GOP and anonymous $upporters are pushing so relentlessly? The fact-checking sites are having trouble keeping up because there are so many ads, each one chock full of baloney!
