Biden to speak at Virginia Tech on Wednesday
Vice President Joe Biden’s two-day campaign swing through Southside and Southwest Virginia will wrap up Wednesday with an event at Virginia Tech, according to President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign.
Biden is scheduled to appear at McComas Hall on the Tech campus for an event that will begin at noon. Doors will open at 10 a.m. Biden will make campaign appearances in Danville and Wytheville on Tuesday.
Tickets for Biden’s Tech appearance are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Obama campaign’s Blacksburg office at 712 N. Main St., Suite 102.
On Tuesday, Biden is scheduled to hold a 4:15 p.m. event at Spiller Elementary School in Wytheville. Tickets for that event are available at the Wytheville Community Center, 333 Community Blvd.
Obama’s campaign also sends word today that Biden called Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan today to congratulate him on being selected as Mitt Romney’s running mate.
