Updated: Romney returning to Virginia on Saturday
As President Barack Obama prepares to accept the Democratic nomination for re-election tonight, Republican challenger Mitt Romney’s campaign is announcing plans for a weekend campaign stop in Virginia.
Romney is scheduled to appear at a rally Saturday afternoon at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, his campaign announced tonight. It will be Romney’s first campaign appearance in the state since the Republican Party formally nominated him at its national convention last week. Romney had been scheduled to appear at an airport rally in Richmond the day after the convention. He instead went to visit a hurricane-damaged area in Louisiana, and running mate Paul Ryan went to Richmond.
(Update – 9.7.11) – Romney’s campaign announced today that the candidate also will attend Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race, the Federated Auto Parts 400, at Richmond International Raceway.

Romney will probably be able to spend a lot more time in Va. now that his campaign has pulled out its advertising and given up in Pennsylvania and Michigan.
Yes, let’s definitely change the subject.
368,000 people gave up looking for work in America…The sole reason for the unemployment rate drop to 8.1%….This Country needs to go back to work.
Dave,
Romney did not pull advertising from Michigan because he hasn’t really advertised there to begin with. Also, the reason Romney is not advertising in Michigan or Pennsylvania is because neither is Obama.
