Goodlatte, Schmookler to have three debates

U.S. Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Roanoke County, and his Democratic challenger, Andy Schmookler of Shenandoah County, will hold three debates in a span of four days in mid-October, according to Goodlatte’s campaign.

The first debate is set for 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 13 at at James Breckinridge Middle School in Roanoke. The NAACP and the Williamson Road Area Business Association will host the event.

The candidates also will debate Oct. 15 at Turner Ashby High School in Rockingham County and Oct. 16 at Liberty University in Lynchburg, according to an announcement from Goodlatte’s campaign.

Goodlatte is running for an 11th term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Schmookler has been pushing for a series of debates.

    Regardless of any other issue, no matter how “good” some may think Bob has been for Roanoke…it’s time he followed his own push for term limits way back in the mid nineties. Enough.
