Why Virgil Goode won’t be on the ballot in Pennsylvania

Virgil Goode
Virgil Goode — the former Rocky Mount congressman who is the Constitution Party candidate for president — won’t be on the ballot in Pennsylvania, even though he turned in more than enough signature to qualify.
Why not?
Because a Pennsylvania state law would have forced the Constitution Party to cover all the legal costs if someone — say, oh, the Republican Party, which is keen to keep the conservative off the ballot — had mounted a successful legal challenge.
Rather than face a $100,000 legal bill, the Constitution Party withdrew its signatures.

It wouldn’t have mattered – the timing is not right for a Liberterian, but hopefully it will be one day!
