Obama cancels Monday campaign stop in Northern Virginia

President Barack Obama’s campaign announced late tonight that it has canceled a Monday campaign event in Prince William County because of Hurricane Sandy.

The president had been scheduled to appear with former President Bill Clinton in the swing county on Monday. A Tuesday Obama trip to Colorado also has been canceled, according to the president’s campaign. The White House announced tonight that Obama will return to Washington after a Monday campaign event in Youngstown, Ohio to monitor the storm. The White House press office said Obama has “directed his team to continue to bring all available resources to bear as state and local partners continue to prepare for the storm.”

Earlier today, Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s campaign called off Sunday campaign events in Prince William and Richmond. A Sunday night Romney rally in Virginia Beach was scrapped on Friday.

Too bad he didn’t cancel his trip Vegas to monitor Bengahzi.

Romney must own stock in oil and has a grudge against wind turbines.
The facts of the matter are that US oil production is at an all-time high. The US is producing more petroleum than at any other time in history with booming production in both North Dakota, Louisiana, and Texas.

The US is now the 3rd largest producer of wind turbine energy behind China and Europe (Germany). Wind turbines plants now supply energy to 12 million American households, and provide thousands of US jobs. President Obama supports a comprehensive domestic energy policy that supports Wind. Solar, Oil, and Clean Coal. Romney has flatly opposed the advancement of wind turbine energy production which would hurt many wind energy producing states such as CA, TX, IA, WA, OR, and KS.

President Obama supported the Recovery Act and stood alongside US autoworkers. Romney’s Bain-Capital was responsible for shipping automaker parts Delphi’s manufacturing jobs to China, and now the same is happening at Sensata Technologies electronic manufacturing plant in the heart of America’s Midwest…Obama is leading America forward, Romney is just taking backwards…

Obama is leading us forward into insolvency….that’s were he’s leading. Romney is leading us backwards to when America was great….blah blah blah…Come on Bryan…gas is $3.60 something….don’t attribute to much to the food stamp President.

Wind turbines will succeed when the free market chooses to buy them. Until such time this president has lost a lot of money.

#2: Notice how in the face of record domestic oil production some regressives have even criticized the president’s energy policies by complaining that less of it is being produced on public land. This group includes those with the current controlling hand in the GOTP, Rmoney and his owners.

Yet they’ll also claim to be so ardently in favor of private enterprise. So, we have record production as a result of private assets being monetized by the private sector(which fits their claimed philosophy), without having to exploit the public assets, maintaining their natural state and energy potential for the future, an ideal circumstance. And yet, these regressives are so eager to criticize even successes occuring under this administration that they’ll contradict their own ideology.

Every hurricane reminds us that federal insurance and mortgage deductions for oceanfront mcmansions are welfare for privileged white people, and yet they’ll complain about school lunches for poor children, and never see the ideological meanness in their selective outrage.

Keep Selfishness Safe, Vote Rmoney 2012!!!

The president back in Washington doing his job. Romney/Ryan praying for half the country while still on the road telling lies about Jeeps in China. I know who I want in the White House.

  8. The Other Rick | October 29, 2012 at 9:43 am

7 – Yep, obviously no big fundraisers on his agenda today. If there were big $upporter$ in Vegas (or elsewhere) today, you can bet he would have found a way to get there. After all, Benghazi didn’t stop him, did it? No…he just made up a big lie and went on with the show.

Now, Obama’s sycophantic suck-ups in the media have a convenient excuse to continue to ignore the Benghazi story.

#7….Well, if the `president` actually went to Washington to do his job, it would be about time..Maybe he`ll do something to help the Economy rather to destroy it.

Gosh Kathie…27 dead so far in the US from the storm. Knowing what a deeply sensitive soul you are, I imagine this must be a very difficult day for you. Best of luck working your way through you’re completely manufactured grief.

“And we’re going to cut through red tape. We’re not going to get bogged down with a lot of rules. We want to make sure that we are anticipating and leaning FORWARD”
    obama

Even with the storm, the prez throws in his campaign slogan!!!

  13. Kathie | October 30, 2012 at 1:41 pm

Gosh, Kristen… 1,405 soldiers have died – another 15,000 have sustained wounds during Obama’s watch. Don’t hear you jumping up and down over that either, do I? The media was reporting the number of casualties DAILY before Obama took office – now what… total silence.

Any life is precious, born or UNBORN – losing life to Sandy is a tragedy, however, even though Obama said his election will be recalled as “the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow, and our planet began to heal.” he couldn’t prevent the loss of life caused by Sandy BUT he could have prevented the loss of live in Libya – requests for more security were being sent as early as JUNE and ignored.

Does the right wing EVER deal in honesty? Have integrity, or admit the facts do not support their narrative? Ever? I confess I have yet to see it.

  15. Kristen | October 30, 2012 at 1:54 pm

So Kathie, thanks for admitting that you don’t much care about the dead people in Libya as much as you relish the chance to try and pin something on Obama. Not that we didn’t already know that.

  16. Kathie | October 30, 2012 at 2:20 pm

Sandi and Kristen – what great little robots you are. Rule 11: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it.

It’s quite sad that your same ole, same ole responses are to kill the messenger.

  17. Kathie | October 30, 2012 at 2:27 pm

Of course, the LEFT has never let a tragedy go un-used for their political benefit:

On the campaign trail in Waterbury Connecticut yesterday, former President Bill Clinton used the threat of Hurricane Sandy to warn voters of the importance of the election next week.

“We’re coming down to the 11th hour. We’re facing a violent storm,” Clinton said according to the Connecticut Mirror. “It’s nothing compared to the storm we’ll face if you don’t make the right decision in this election.”

Clinton made his remarks while speaking at a rally for Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Chris Murphy.

“17.Of course, the LEFT has never let a tragedy go un-used for their political benefit.”

I have no words for the irony of that coming off your keyboard.

  21. Kathie | October 30, 2012 at 4:00 pm

“irony coming off of my keyboard” – I know you are quite delousional but don’t blame the poor keyboard sweetheart; I know you on the left always have someone to blame besides your own words and actions but I’ll let you in on a little secret, the words are mine.

  22. Kristen | October 30, 2012 at 4:54 pm

” I know you are quite delousional but don’t blame the poor keyboard sweetheart; ”

My assumption was that the keyboard was operating under your control.

#17 Wow, Kathie, you’ll say anything at all, won’t you?

Did you see Romney conducting those campaign rallies disguised as hurricane relief efforts? Sad. I would have no problem at all with Romney just campaigning, but pretending to help while campaigning? Nasty.

  24. gdad | October 30, 2012 at 10:47 pm

#17 And then, Kathie, let’s go back to Bush’s naked use of 9/11…

    Care to try again, darlin’?

  25. Kathie | November 1, 2012 at 8:50 pm

#23 – I’ll say anything? That’s very funny – Bill Clinton was the one doing the talking in my #17 post.

Let me remind you that it was Rahm Emanuel that said to never let a crisis go to waste.

Got to HATE it when the left’s own words are used against them, I don’t blame you, I’d hate it too if I were you.

  26. gdad | November 2, 2012 at 11:02 am

#25 As I said, Kathie … let’s take a look at Bush using tragedy. Or Romney.
