If your driver’s license, vehicle registration or state inspection sticker expires Wednesday and you haven’t renewed it, Gov. Bob McDonnell has a Halloween treat for you.
Because of disruptions caused by Hurricane Sandy, McDonnell today signed an executive order granting a grace period to Virginians who face Oct. 31 deadlines to renew certain licenses and permits. McDonnell’s order extends those deadlines to Nov. 9.
“Nobody has to rush to a state agency tomorrow to get all that done,” McDonnell said at a news conference this afternoon.
McDonnell’s Executive Order No. 53 includes a request that the Department of Motor Vehicles and other executive branch agencies waive any late fees associated with October registrations that are submitted before Nov. 9.
