Two-hour plus wait at Peters Creek precinct in Roanoke
Former Roanoke Times columnist Shanna Flowers reports that the line at her precinct — Peters Creek, which votes at Ruffner Middle School — is more than two hours long.
That would suggest a strong Democratic turn-out, since last time Peters Creek voted 73 percent for Obama.
Meanwhile, we had asked readers to share their reports from the polls.
Frederick Sykes tells us: “Took about an hour (8am – 9am) at Williamson Road #1, Oakland School. Made me late for work, but after I had invested that much time, I wasn’t leaving.”
Williamson Road #1 was a swing precinct last time, going for John McCain by just 23 votes.
