Virginia gets “called” for Obama, but perhaps 250,000 absentees remain

Various news organizations, including the Associated Press, have now called Virginia for Obama.

While we don’t care who wins, we are pleased to note that we’ve been pointing out since 10:36 p.m. why the numbers pointed to an Obama victory in the Old Dominion.

One caveat: The Virginia Public Access Project points out that perhaps 250,000 absentee ballots have yet to be counted. There are 28 localities that have yet to release absentee figures. Some of those are big localities that went for the Democrats — such as Fairfax County, Arlington and Alexandria — so perhaps that won’t change the outcome.

But the numbers may wiggle and jiggle over the next few days.

At the moment, the State Board of Elections shows Obama with a 62,940-vote advantage in the state, with the president sitting at 50.10 percent of the vote.

The Election is over! Congratulations to the winners, Condolences to the losers, now lets all go out and take all the signs down!

Well all those who are extremely happy that Obama won should congratulate themselves. They votes for a Muslim and a Socialist. In the next four
years you’re going to find out exactly what you did to our Country and I don’t think you’re going to like the results. But the deed is done and
we’ll have to live with 30% unemployment and an economy that is going to make the great depression of the 30% look like boom times.
Four more years and you won’t believe what America is going to look like
but the Chinese, Russians, and Muslims all of which supported Obama are
    dancing in the streets.

I have several comments to make and the only way I can express how I feel is like this: Obama is not for the USA!

    2 Chronicles 7:14
    New International Version (NIV)

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

    2 Corinthians 4:18
    New International Version (NIV)

18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Wow, true colors. Thanks for sharing. It explains President Obama’s win in ways I never could.

2 – “In the next four years you’re going to find out exactly what you did to our Country and I don’t think you’re going to like the results.”

Yep…just wait until the costs and effects of Obamacare fully kick in. It was delayed until 2014 for a reason, mark my words. Say goodbye to your full-time job with benefits. It will likely turn into two part-time jobs at much lower pay with no bennies. Wait and see.

Could you all take one day off from being sore losers? Sheesh.

Linda…the USA apparently disagrees with you.

per the first comment, good news is the election is over and the commercials are over….the bad news, Roanoke will have signs everywhere which is an eyesore to the city and county. I realize it might cost the city or county money, but can’t these be removed within days of the election? also a roanoke.com blogger wrote something about a “susie” who said after Romney wins by a landslide….hmmmm

I am old enought to have my candidatyes win and lsoe a LOT of elections. Does not feel good to be on the short end but I have never seen such hateful speech from folks directed at the President. It was the same way when Bush was relected. Get a life guys and gals. The sun still came up today and it will tomorow for must of us too. Concerning the biblical quotes, I am not that learned but I do remeber the past about judging others lest ye be judged and casting the first stone. We all jew, christiand ane muslim are all children of Abraham and gone from the same God who loves us all more than we can imagine.

Linda, perhaps you could explain Romans 13 to us?

    @Doug – Hmmm 2/10 for trolling, but I’ll bite a bit
    – In the past 4 years, my and several of my friends lives have improved greatly, I have job prospects and decent insurance.
    – My 24 year old daughter was able to use my insurance to get treatment for her cancer. Which would not of happened without the ACA or Obama-scare as you tend to call it.

Ugh, the taste of your troll bait is too bitter to choke on anymore.
