Is Bob Goodlatte now Hollywood’s favorite Republican?

Rep. Bob Goodlatte

A little awhile ago, we posted a release from Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Roanoke County, about his bill on video privacy being signed into law.

I went searching the Internet to find some national news coverage about the bill. Couldn’t find any, but did find this CNET story from November 2012, with the attention-getting headline: “Meet Rep. Bob Goodlatte, Hollywood’s new copyright ally.”

It has some good background on Goodlatte’s work dealing with copyright issues.

There are two ‘bookends’ in the form of cities called Washington, D.C. on the East Coast and Hollywood on the West Coast. These two cities have become like a vise that has squeezed the morals, values, and honor right out of this country. It comes as absolutely no surprise that BOB GOODLATTE has his foot, mouth, and perhaps wallet . . in BOTH cities. Hollywood and Washington, D.C. Think about it. Where have our values gone? What does this country stand for anymore. MONEY??? POWER?? CONTROL?? That rules both Washington and all the elected officials who “work” there. Shame on Bob Goodlatte: He supports the rich’s “rights” at the expense of the all others. Get rid of Bob next election!!!!

It was said that VCRs were going to hurt the movie industry and also cable television at first. Hollywood thought online piracy was going to end the industry but it’s still alive and well. What other reason would Bob have to defend Hollywood if not for financial gain?

Not abut Bob, Dwayne, but now that we’re into GA season, wouldn’t it be a good idea for the RT to get a link to this blog back on the homepage??

OK, I just now saw the BRC link on the homepage. Not sure whether I brainlessly overlooked it a few minutes ago or something strange happened. Anyway …. slinking away with a red face.
