I am glad to see someone from SW Virginia get a slot on the Finance Committee, but I have to say that during my lifetime I can not recall a time where the majority party, by virtue of ONE vote, that being the Lt. Governor’s, the presiding officer of the State Senate, have conducted themselves in a more partisan, unprofessional manner. Decorum, tradition, and a sense of dignity above partisanship when it comes to the operation of the daily business of the legislature are the hallmark of the Virginia General Assembly throughout it’s history. It is sad to see that destroyed by a group of Republican state senators who seem to be operating under the guidance of the Regimes in North Korea or Cuba. They are an embarrassment to the Commonwealth and it’s governing body’s institutional history. Leadership of the Republican side of the VA State Senate need to do some serious soul searching and evaluation of how they are conducting themselves.
