Jason, there are dangers of handling mining operations that have to be addressed better than the coal, copper or diamond, etc. mining interests have done. There are also dangers that profits from resources will go the the 1% while the 99% do not have adequate nutrition, shelter or education. Even bread and circuses will not appease the bitterness of a 99% left without these needs met for long. That's why Europeans left their homes and had a revolution here to have a government of the people, the 100%, providing for the general welfare in the preamble of our constitution. We decided to go forward with each successive technology with fear and trembling at the dangers involved but we persist. We do not bury our talents, we go forward honoring the memories of those who were brave and wise to make a way for us to have the fruits of their labors. We honor those future generations giving them the chance to prove worthy of the sacrifices we now make.
