The ignorance of those wanting to punish the people who are doing the right thing never ceases to amaze me. It is almost as bad as protecting some “liberty” at the cost of severe problems of society. We cannot be the most intelligent species God created, we cannot.

Wait…Doesn’t the same bill call for eliminating the state gasoline tax?

According to another Roanoke Times article:

“The governor’s proposal would eliminate the state gasoline tax and increase the retail sales tax from 5 percent to 5.8percent, with all of the revenue from the tax increase dedicated to transportation. The plan also would increase vehicle registration fees, impose a $100 annual fee on hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles.”

So we’re going to charge people extra for paying less in a tax that, under the same bill, would be nonexistent? Perhaps I’ve misunderstood, but isn’t that absurd?

do your research. It actually costs more in overall materials to power an electric car than a regular unleaded gas engine.
