Kaine to make first floor speech as Senator

It’s a big moment for any Senator, making a first speech on the floor. Virginia’s junior Senator, Tim Kaine, will make his debut on Wednesday at 1:45 p.m.

His subject will be the automatic budget cuts, called sequestration, that are due to take effect Friday. Kaine plans to highlight stories he heard from Virginians on his three-day, statewide tour last week.

Kaine’s floor speech will be broadcast live on CSPAN-2.

Kaine never did anything for Virginia?

As Mayor of Richmond, he built schools, cut taxes, and decreased crime — the homicide rate went by half.

As Governor, he oversaw a large increase in the use of protective easements against development (sprawl), banned smoking in government buildings, introduced HPV vaccinations, handled the VT shootings promptly and deftly, and managed the financial affairs of the state to widespread bipartisan praise.

He defeated George Allen and now he serves on the budget, armed services, and foreign relations committee.

And he was a missionary for a year in Honduras. This is the man you are calling a crook and a shoe shine boy. How do Kaine’s accomplishments stack up against yours?
