Republican candidates will debate in Abingdon March 23
The candidates seeking the Republican nominations for lieutnant governor and attorney general will debate in Abingdon March 23.

The Ninth District Republican Committee of Virginia will present two debates on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, 1 Partnership Circle, Abingdon, VA 24210. Doors will open at 5:00pm with the program beginning promptly at 6:00pm.
The first debate will feature Republican candidates for Attorney General; state Sen. Mark Obenshain of Harrisonburg and Del. Rob Bell of Charlottesville.
Immediately following the Attorney General debate, the seven candidates vying for the Party’s nomination for Lt. Governor will take the stage
featuring: Former state Sen. Jeannemarie Devolites Davis of Fairfax; Del. L. Scott Lingamfelter of Prince William; state Sen. Stephen H.
Martin of Chesterfield; Corey A. Stewart, chairman of the Prince William County Board of Supervisors; Susan Stimpson, chairwoman of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors; technology executive Pete Snyder; and Chesapeake minister E.W. Jackson.
The Republican Party of Virginia will determine its nominee for Lt.
Governor and for Attorney General at a Convention to be held in Richmond on May 18, 2013.
The debates will be streamed live on the Committee’s website, www.va9gop.org, and will be moderated by local television and radio personality Steve Hawkins. A full video/audio recording for later playback will also be made available on the web site.
The event will be free and open to the public. The media is also invited and encouraged to attend.

Gee, I wonder if they’ll discuss the economic opportunity for SW Va? HAHAHAHAHA!!! I know, it’s laughable to even think they might actually deign to consider that. We all know that the leadership has the same mentality as Morgan Griffith. Which is to say that they will TOTALLY ignore the needs of the district in order to kiss the rings of the absentee corporate ownership, because they provide the financial support for the political campaigns.
