Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling (R) spent some time this week talking about the possibility of being a write-in candidate for governor.
He didn’t encourage it, but he didn’t rule it out, either. (You can read the Richmond Times-Dispatch story on the subject here.)
So, any Bolling voters out there?
Bolling seemed a pretty conventional mainstream conservative until he got out-maneuvered for the Republican nomination by Ken Cuccinelli. Now he seems to be trying to re-invent himself as a somewhat right-of-center alternative to both parties. Anyone want to weigh in on whether he’s been successful at this? It’s one thing to imagine disgruntled Republicans voting for Bolling on the grounds that he’s still a Republican, but would any disgruntled Democrats embrace him? Who is likely to get more votes — Bolling as a write-in or Libertarian Robert Sarvis?
