Big sports weekend ahead
The Roanoke Times will be all over Southwest Virginia and North Carolina this weekend as football season continues to wind down, while basketball season is just getting under way.
In Sunday’s paper, catch full coverage of the ACC football championship game between Virginia Tech and Florida State.
Also, we’ll have full reports from the three high school state semifinal games involving Timesland schools — Christiansburg hosts Harrisonburg, Radford hosts Gate City and Eastern Montgomery plays at Clintwood.
In Monday’s paper, find out what happened in the ACC men’s basketball opener between Virginia and Virginia Tech at Cassell Coliseum. Also on Sunday, Virgina Tech’s women host Winthrop before the Tech-UVa game.
