Sports editor Jeff Gilbert had requested a blog to follow the Virginia-Clemson men's basketball game and here it is, more than seven hours after the final whistle.
Halfway through the ride home and without access to my cellphone, much less a wireless connection, I remembered what I was supposed to do.
The morning edition may have arrived by the time readers see this, so here's what I failed to mention: Nineteeenth-ranked Clemson, a 64-63 loser to visiting Virginia, had won 15 of its 16 previous home games and was 11-1 at Littlejohn Coliseum before Sunday..
The Tigers were 8 1/2-point favorites and led 63-49 before being outscored 15-0 over the final 3:54. Virginia scored on its last six possessions, including two 3-pointers by Adrian Joseph.
Virginia had lost 10 straight road games before a Wednesday night visit to North Carolina State, where the Cavaliers prevailed 71-58.
The Cavaliers (13-6 overall, 5-2 ACC) will take a four-game winning streak into Thursday night's meeting with Duke (18-3, 5-2) at John Paul Jones Arena, where UVa is 10-1.
UVa has won 11 of the last 15 games with Clemson, including six of the last seven..
