The Roanoke Times: Press Boxwith our sports staffStay tuned to NBA playoffsPosted Apr24, 2008 at 10:26 AMWant to know just how good the NBA playoffs are? If you missed Saturday’s first two games — too bad. You missed plenty. LeBron James took over in the second half to lead Cleveland Cavaliers past Washington Wizards. Then the defending champion San Antonio Spurs came from behind to beat Phoenix in double overtime — all because Tim Duncan hit his first 3-pointer of the season to force that second OT. There were enough big shots in that game, that if it had been an NCAA final it would go down as a classic. But it’s just another NBA playoff game. That’s what makes this league’s playoffs season so much fun to watch. There will be lots of clutch performances between now and June. — Jeff Gilbert |
