Trejbal: Floyd school superintendent
Floyd County dreams up a new superintendent
Christian Trejbal
Trejbal is a Roanoke Times editorial writer. He is based in the New River Valley.
Floyd County School Board is all about transparency and public involvement these days. It rediscovered sunlight after being caught keeping secrets from the public, teachers and anyone else who might have been interested that Superintendent Terry Arbogast was making a lot more money than the books clearly indicated.
Now Arbogast is on his way out, a previously announced retirement accelerated. His long tenure at the top of the county’s schools will be remembered not for any successes but for the scandal at the end.

If you are a resident of Floyd County, VA who reads and/or subscribes to the Roanoke Times you have recently been treated to journalism at its worst. It appears “journalists” who have never spent more than an afternoon touring our lovely downtown feel they are experts on who we are.
As I hope to point out, the Roanoke Times is failing their readers and more specifically the wonderful community of Floyd, VA. Even if you do not reside in Floyd County, you should take notice as you could be next.
