Foster: How to fix government
Stop arguing and solve the nation’s problems
R. McNeil Foster
Foster lives in Blue Ridge.
I love a good argument, even if it involves the taboos of religion and politics. I even love when it gets a wee-tad heated, so long as there are no foul names called, no blame-game tactics, no lies and no weapons in the room. Sometimes my view is correct, as I always knew it was, and sometimes it turns out that my view was not totally right, and I have been educated toward a slightly different understanding.
Either way, it is usually exhilarating and enlightening.

Citizen dialogue is critical, keep it up!
Well said Mr. Foster, but I do have one disagreement, I think that in truth, a BIG part of the problem has been that the arguments used by the politicians and their minions, that too many of us “fell for”, was that what they were selling WAS “what is best for the American citizens or the country”. Some were powerful believers that it was their mission to deliver us, fix us, make us over. They promised they had answers, solutions, bold new ideas…all to benefit us.
Truth be told, they did benefit some Americans greatly. Look at any graph, it is not the poor elderly, the disabled, the working poor, or the just plain poor and clueless who have done well in the past decade and a half or so, but the wealthy most assuredly benefited from those politicians efforts.
