Every election offers lessons, and last week’s was no exception. Now that everyone has had time to decompress a bit, we can reflect on what we learned. Tuesday provided three important lessons for the New River Valley, and none was good.



I think Mr. Wertz is very wrong in his comment about there being “minor” problems with the voting last week. After conferring with several of my neighbors, I discovered that most of us were given incorrect ballots. We live in Montgomery County in district 21 according to the voter cards we were sent in the mail. After discussing the ballots upon leaving the polling place, most of us discovered that we were not allowed to vote in the Nutter/Edwards race- that wads not a part of the ballot we were given. I will be taking this up with the Registrar’s office…
