Condon: No gunshots on Sunday
Non-hunters should have their day
By Marlene A. Condon
Condon is a naturalist and author/photographer who lives in Crozet.
Eight bills have been introduced in the Virginia legislature that would make hunting on Sunday legal. Obviously, representatives are determined to get a law passed to allow Sunday hunting.
Yet in 2010, hunters (some of whom were probably not Virginians) purchased 245,185licenses — a number that represents only 3 percent of the 8million residents of Virginia.

A tapestry woven of non-seqiturs, strawmen and red herring !
It is too bad Ms. Condon is so ignorant of Virginia laws. Does she really think that the only people who hunt in Virginia are licensed hunters? Is she totally clueless to the fact that landowners in Virginia are not required to by a license to hunt on their own land?
This is almost too funny to be so pitiful. She cites in her main argument how small licensed hunters are as a % of the total population of Virginia and then goes into the trapping of foxes to be used by “hunters”. Ms. Condon, do you have any idea how few HUNTERS actually participate in that brutal “sport” you cite? Or are you just blinded by your disdain for hunters in general?
Ms. Condon, I own 74 acres of land in Bedford County which I hunt on. You are NOT allowed on my land. Give me one good reason why I should not be allowed to hunt on MY OWN LAND on Sunday?
As Clark W. Griswold would say, where is the Tylenol?
