Cuccinelli argues health care — but not in court

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli doesn’t get to argue Virginia’s case against the federal Affordable Care Act before the U.S. Supreme Court in March, the court having decided the challenge brought jointly by 26 other states covered the issues adequately, thank you.

Cuccinelli got a chance last week to argue the issue nevertheless at The National Press Club. Not a court that will carry any weight legally, but a court of public opinion, and that counts for something for the politically ambitious A.G. He made a joint appearance with Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley, who made the case for the health care reform law that shares features of the Massachusetts program.
