Preserve the health care safety net
Cuts to free clinics and health care centers could disrupt medical services for thousands of Virginians.
Gov. Bob McDonnell defends his plan to shred Virginia’s health care safety net by maintaining that federal health care reforms will render many of the medical services they provide obsolete.
It’s a cynical argument, given his public support for lawsuits that would gut the reforms before they begin. It’s also a dangerous argument that could disrupt medical care for many thousands of Virginians.
