Editorial: State education funding

A reality check on public school budgets

 Gov. Bob McDonnell’s bean counting on education doesn’t negate real cuts happening in the classroom.

As serious work begins on the state budget, the debate over school funding grows in volume but not clarity. School advocates accuse Gov. Bob McDonnell of trying to cut state aid. The governor says he increased support for schools.
