Coal: Point/Counterpont
The discussion about coal regulation is still going.
Blue John weighs in: I have not ruled out any energy source, but if a utility chooses to use one of the dirtiest fuels they should be required to clean it up. I would like to see the section of the new regulation requiring utility owners making repairs or minor modifications to meet the new standards. This new rule includes a thirty year transition period and it appears Kilgore is playing politics to stir up opposition. The Republicans tried to attach a delay in the implementation of the new EPA standards to the transportation bill. It was rejected.
