Friday letters
Trash cans, war and zoo animals in today’s letters to the editor.
Pick of the day: Watch where you walk (swim, look)
Re: “Dogs poop; bring a scoop,” May 1 letter:
As we walk along in this world, whether it be in our yard or in a park, remember there is poop everywhere. Not just that awful dog poop, but deer, rabbit, squirrel, bird, insect, snake, etc., poop. Yes, even in the water; there’s fish poop (that’s right, even fish have to go), beaver, cow, otter, muskrats — you get the idea.
What’s to be done about all of this poop we have no control over?
I know it sounds like I’m picking, but really. Am I going to pitch one because of all of the other poop I have stepped in during the day? Perhaps there should be a sign, “Those paranoid of poop may not want to walk here.” Or “Fish poop in water; swim at your own risk.” Or, “Birds in sky above; looking up may be hazardous to one’s eyes.”
“Nature Trail” might be a simple sign that would cover it all. “When nature calls, it’s just natural. Be aware of your surroundings.”
