Theologian spreads gospel of ‘green alarmism’
By Christina Nuckols
My email has been fertile with green-hued good news about recycling and Earth-friendly projects around the Roanoke Valley this spring, so I was startled recently to find the Green Dragon of Radical Environmentalism snarling at me from my inbox.
An invitation from the Family Foundation urged me to attend a briefing on “how the extreme environmental movement harms the poor, attacks the worth of individuals created in God’s image and has its roots in ancient pagan philosophies.”
The event is far afield in Virginia Beach, but I was curious and called up the featured speaker. Calvin Beisner is a Florida theologian who’s parlayed his interest in economics and the environment into a career on the speaking circuit mixing religion and pseudo-science. He’s hoping to raise awareness about “green alarmism.”

Excellent and enlightening commentary. Why is this man in charge of ANYTHING in government? Virginia cannot be a Theocracy. If he was a rabid left winger, people would be protesting in the streets and threatening his life. Why can people only see some zealots.
