A work in progress at Explore Park
It’s a tough time to launch a capital campaign, but community support is needed for the rec area.
Remember Plan B?
It’s the plan for keeping Explore Park a locally controlled asset and community resource in its third iteration: not the quasi-governmental living history park that opened in 1993 and failed to thrive, or the attempt at a privately developed vacation destination crushed in 2010 by the Great Recession’s credit crunch.

” And if the public has taken scant notice, Explore’s executive director, Debbie Pitts, assures that she and its governing board are working on it.”
It’s not that the public hasn’t taken notice, it is that they know that keeping a money-losing venture open is a hare-brained idea.
