Too much coverage? C’mon; he’s the president

By Linda Hopkins

It’s deja vu all over again. The generic letter writer strikes once more. Gary Carnot’s July 20 letter (“Obama coverage showed a bias”), like many I’ve read, chastises The Roanoke Times for running only liberal articles (back to that accusation later), and asks sarcastically if it would be safe to say the newspaper is supporting Obama.

It is safe to say the paper supports many of his policies, and equally safe to say every conservative newspaper in the nation will be anointing Mitt Romney. But Carnot adds a new wrinkle — taking the newspaper to task for vast presidential coverage of Obama’s visit.

Hopkins lives in Stuart.
