Virginia can safely mine uranium
By Ray Ganthner
As chairman of the Virginia Energy Independence Alliance and a grandfather who has devoted my career to developing clean and sustainable forms of energy for the use of future generations, I support environmentally sound energy projects that can safely contribute to American energy independence.
Like many mainstream citizens concerned for the environment, I have concluded that nuclear energy can make an important contribution to solving our most pressing environmental challenges. Nuclear energy generates virtually none of the air and water pollution associated with fossil fuels and requires a tiny fraction of the fuel needed to operate fossil-fuel plants.

Without massive government subsidies nuclear power isn’t feasible.
That’s why the rest of the world already uses it. It’s at least as feasible as wind, solar, and the other pie-in-the-sky “renewable” energy sources that some argue for over fossil fuels.
