An urban-rural divide emerges in recycling rates, but there’s room to work around the edges.

Good job, Virginians. The commonwealth’s recycling rate continues to increase. That means less waste thrown into landfills and less cost for local governments.

Room remains for improvement, though, including in some Southwest Virginia communities.
