The ‘me too’ debate
The two major party candidates mostly agreed on foreign policy, while third parties were locked out.
Of all the presidential debates this year, the final one suffered the most from the absence of third-party candidates.
Constitution Party candidate Virgil Goode, the Libertarian Party’s Gary Johnson and the Green Party’s Jill Stein are all on the ballot in Virginia, but they were not allowed to participate in the debates, depriving voters of perspectives on domestic and international affairs they won’t get from the two major parties.

If it is possible to win a national election without being on all ballots, then the third party candidates should be included in at least one debate, just as the VP’s are. This is a true slap in the face of democracy and our representative republic when these folks are totally excluded. It is just plain wrong. We can never get away from the two party dominance when they refuse to even allow others onto the field. The debate commission should be ashamed.
Well said, Sandi.
