Voter fraud in Virginia
The State Board of Elections should request an investigation into GOP electoral irregularities.
Does anyone believe the GOP-controlled State Board of Elections and limelight-loving Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli would demur from investigating Virginia Democrats if evidence of electoral fraud arose in the weeks before a big national election? They did not hesitate when Republicans demanded an investigation into Constitution Party candidate Virgil Goode’s ballot eligibility.
Yet they give a pass to Republicans.

Completely agree. If there was this kind of blatant voter fraud performed by the Democrats the VA GOP would not only be up in arms, but it would be the headline on Fox “News” with all of their right wing pundits with conservative agendas screaming for a full blown McCarthy-style investigation. But seeing as this fraud has ties to GOP, we’re just supposed to trust when the Republicans say that it was just a couple of bad apples that went rouge? The fact of the matter is that the Attorney General is supposed to be an objective enforcer of the laws. Unfortunately, like his fellow GOP brethren, Mr. Cuccinelli is more focused more on being “right” than actually doing what’s right.
This Statement from Rockingham County Registrar Doug Geib, confirms that the fix is underway.
“Unless something changes, I don’t see the state getting involved, but if there’s more evidence that comes out in the future that would maybe indicate that there was a broader issue that would require the state to get involved, then it’s possible,” said Geib.
He says right now he doesn’t think this was a conspiracy against a particular party because voters in Virginia don’t indicate which party they belong to on their registration forms.

A Field Director, and political operative in the employ of the Republican Party of Virginia who cannot document the likely voting preference of his voter registration applicants? Not possible.
Obviously they said something to him to make him trash their applications. This should be investigated to the fullest… of course it won’t be, their name is not ACORN.
It should definitely be investigated.
What is the matter with you people? You guys act like they’re sweeping this under the rug. The guy has already been fired and multiple counts of criminal charges have been placed. Why should the AG waste money investigating what has already been determined to be improper? There is going to be an actual public trial over this. The simple fact is, you just want something to stomp your feet and bray about.
Sandi, the real difference in this case and ACORN is that in this case when the Republicans found out about the fraud they fired the guy and criminal charges were placed. Conversely, when a third party exposed ACORN, the democrats denied, defended and made excuses for ACORN and instead went after the whistleblower. Once again, you might want to take a look at the composition of that high ground you’re on. Seems a little squishy from here.
Yep, those Repubs sure are mightily concerned about possible voter fraud.
Why isn’t John R demanding an investigation?
1) The Republican Party of Virginia said they fired this perp’s company in the aftermath of being caught filing fraudulent voter registrations in 11 counties in Florida. That was not the case. The Republican Party of Virginia simply swapped corporate names and kept all the same operatives on the payroll. Evidence of organized Felony Conspiracy.
2) This same Field Director had his people on campus at JMU registering people for whom there is no record of registration weeks later (and beyond the deadline for registration). Stay tuned.
3) The guy at the center of this multi-state vote fraud activity, Nathan Sproul (longtime Republican Party operative)has an interstate history with this stuff.
@5 – That’s no true about ACORN at all. What people don’t realize or remember is that it was ACORN itself that notified the elections boards in various states about the phony registrations (Mickey Mouse, etc.). They fired the canvassers and, following the law, notified the respective states and federal authorities of the problems. After those facts came to light, James O’Keefe made a highly edited and deceptive video that the right-wing echo-chamber went nuts over and used to say that ACORN was perpetrating election fraud. The video was found to be complete garbage.
ACORN was investigated by the NY AG, the CA AG, the Brooklyn DA, the Congressional Research Service, and others and all of them cleared ACORN of any wrongdoing. In fact, their reports indicated that ACORN acted appropriately when it notified of the phony voter registrations.
That all being said, I agree with you, Chuck, that there have already been criminal charges and all accounts so far indicate that this was a isolated incident. So, there’s no need to blow this up into a big mess. I am, however, concerned that it appears that this registration worker was part of a company connected with the organization currently under investigation in Florida and other states for voter registration violations. The one that the GOP (to their credit and rightly so I might add) dropped immediately once the Florida issues came to light. That is worth a look and I believe I’ve read that those connections are being investigated.

When the ACORN workers did similar stuff, the ORGANIZATION was blamed, and is STILL being blamed. This is suddenly a whole different scene and no one but him is to blame, he thought this up all on his own. Yeah, right.
This cannot be taken lightly. If you google Nathan Sproul, you’ll see the implications, the ties with Romney and the RNC. It’ll make your head spin! Even some electronic voting machine, depending on the Mfg. are subject to manipulation. Several years back there was someone who was going to tell about an incident where he deleted several thousand vote..he died in an accident. Reality has it over Clancy novels.
From my perspective, if the Republicans and AG are as concerned about voter fraud as they claim to be, then an investigation would be conducted by Cuccinelli on the people and groups responsible for this. Of course that’s unless the GOP powers that be weren’t ever really concerned about voter fraud and more concerned about making sure that the “right” voters were able to cast a ballot.

Harrisonburg, Virginia. Voter Fraud Capital of Virginia
When Fraud and conspiricy go unchecked as far as government is concerned. It becomes treason. If we don’t still hang people for offenses of this nature against the American people we should. There is way to many “white collar” crimes that are getting a slap on the wrist. I think a crime against the American people, is a crime that should be punished in the worst way-If they let it go unchecked and do not completely correct the problem, “making certain that every ballot that was destroyed, has a fix so that that person may vote.” If not fraud, conspiracy, and treason has been committed against those voters. A full and complete investigation should ensue and those found guilty should be hung!
Liberals whining about voter fraud is rich indeed…..

Rest easy JimW, I am sure that was just for publicity.

“Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain”, this is all a done deal.
What a laugh! Virginia Dems live in a glass house when it comes to voter fraud!
“The three-member State Board of Elections…must ask the attorney general to conduct a broad investigation into GOP voter registration problems.” REALLY!
Oh those evil Republicans! But wait! How can this be? The Virginia Dems caught red handed promoting voter fraud! Say it ain’t so!
The field director for Virginia Democratic Rep. Jim Moran, his son Patrick Moran, has resigned after being secretly recorded seemingly advising a conservative journalist masquerading as a supporter that utility bills could be used to aid in voter fraud.
An undercover video from Project Veritas by James O’Keefe, the activist whose undercover videos have caught ACORN, NPR and other groups in dubious activities, shows Patrick Moran giving advice on how to “get in a van” and vote on behalf of about 100 people illegally.
Patrick Moran advises that the person voting on behalf of others could potentially use “…utility bills or something like that…He’ll need bills…He’ll need something with the name and their address on it…they can fake a utility bill with ease, you know?”

You will not see that commented on in a RT editorial!
The story did make the Richmond Times Dispatch online today, but I didn’t see it in the online version of the Roanoke Times, however. No surprise there!
Everyone lives “in a glass house” when it comes to actual voter fraud. Everyone.
The level of entrapment in that video is damning as well. Young Moran should have known better, but having a conversation is still not voter fraud. Many of the other allegations are.
