Willful blindness to environmental issues

You have all heard the expression “the elephant in the room.” We use that expression sometimes when there is a huge issue that is clearly present, but no one wants to acknowledge it. The issue in this presidential election is the environment.

Has anyone heard anything in the three debates between President Obama and Mitt Romney about the environment? I don’t think so. I did hear Obama say that we need “clean energy,” but that’s all I’ve heard.
