Why do you assume the so called "blue states" would not be the population centers of the newly separated Untied States? They are the reason Obama was elected and if the map is drawn to account for population as opposed to established land mass, there is a lot of blue.

This whole thing is silly and only adding to those who have a delusion of the nation being behind their beliefs "if only" you could get rid of the rest of the voters. You are wrong.

#37 C., does it cost less to build an interstate bridge in Alabama than in Michigan?

Does it cost less to maintain/sustain a military base in Mississippi than in Ohio?

Will not the spending of federal funds for these (and myriad other) be greater per capita in states with less population & less taxable income?

The argument you cite is bogus. And IMO (at best) inconsistent from those who stress federal perspective of these United States.

I'm talking about the revolutionary war! One of the biggest problems with this age is that everyone thinks that this country is founded on a stone foundation. Wrong! Most every other country throughout history that was in existence less than 300yrs barely get a mention in the history books. America was (WAS) the last free country there was to run to. I'm not saying splitting from the US, I'm saying push out those that want to change what we built over 200yrs ago. Like the frontiersmen years ago, I'll risk dyeing outside the governments protection, free from its socialistic oppression rather than watching my children grow up making the right decisions and become successful only to have the government steel what they have worked so hard for and put it into some government program that takes being responsible for your actions from those who make bad decisions.

#37 C., federal dollars collected & dispersed are but one factor/observation. (I offer no opinion here on secession, per se).

Amongst others, would you care to discuss public union (pension & other) obligations that cannot be sustained? Which states they are in? Which cities in which states have thusly declared bankruptcy?

Who will bail them out? If printed money, who most feels the effect?

And of course I see no adjustment in your comment or cited article for per-capita consideration, or the regressive effect of depleted income/higher taxes.

I am sure most states you reference would be glad to keep their money & call it even.

47..Thats the problem..so many have forgotton what we did for this country and now its moving towards socialism, and yes Sandi I understand that there are many democratic hardworkers out there. The problem is that your party has aliegned itself with the gimmie crowd. Ex: Ocuppy wall st,Enviromentalist killing jobs, illegal amnisty, welfare, I can on and on but that is dependency not what this country was founded on. So if
it is going to go over the cliff then so be it. That will maybe give our kids a fresh start without a 20 trillion $ debt and 30 milliona out of work. What ppl dont understand is that I am in the position to talk to many of companies and most not all are planning cut back and layoffs. How does this help the country. This does nothing but put more burden on the tax payer and IT CAN NOT BE Sustained.

Herb, I do not believe you really understand what "the end" would entail and I have serious doubts how long any of us would last if it came. Money is worthless when their is no financial structure. Odd how you seem to think no one else has worked hard or earned anything. You do know there are talented, hard working, honest and even wealthy Democrats in this nation, don't you?
