Grand Old Party lost its mooring

It was theirs for the taking, but Republicans literally gave the election to the Democrats. They didn’t lose it, they gave it away.

I’ve been reading articles in various papers speculating on why Republicans lost, and the official reasons are ludicrous. One article indicated Mitt Romney lost because he was too moderate. Really? While the author was dead serious, who in his right mind would think anyone who desired a more conservative candidate would vote for a Democrat over a Republican? That’s just plain stupid.
