"<em>If you agree with a network’s agenda, you’re more likely to see their coverage as “even-handed”. Youre less likely to see, or be bothered by, bias with which you agree.</em>" The defense of FOX as credible is more than strong evidence of that.

I think because FOX, as a network, literally wallows in whatever makes President Obama or Democrats look bad, seem wrong, or appear to be "corrupt" it makes you all sure that the other networks and media outlets are "carrying water", covering up, or ignoring their duty when they do not do so. That bias is dangerous. You assume FOX is right and cannot fathom any reason other than the rest of media being in the can for Obama and the Dems rather than seeing the pitiful, over the top, conspiracy laden lunacy of Fox, you claim the problem is the other guys. It is just plain sad, it is helping divide this nation and worst of all, it has not been correct, yet. That should matter at some point to any intelligent person.

One can only dream of what this nation would have been like if an entire media empire had been devoted to tearing apart the Reagan or Bush 2 administrations in the same fashion the right wing media has been to Obama's. You will never get that, but you should.

34 - Based on NBC's reporting and coverage, not too hard to figure out.

As for "even-handedness"...if that includes burying or barely mentioning stories that could harm Obama and the Dems, then yes the MSM is pretty "even-handed". Their compulsion to hide negative stories about Dems is equal to their eagerness to report the same about R candidates and officials.

To #2 (Art): In terms of Westinghouse owning CBS, "was" is definitely the correct tense. If you look at the history of Westinghouse, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westinghouse_Electric_Corporation, you'll see that they bought CBS in 1995, sold off their defense-related businesses in 1996, and renamed themselves as "CBS Corporation" in 1997. They were subsequently sold to Viacom in 1999.

Westinghouse hasn't manufactured military jet engines since 1958, and handed over the rest of their defense business to Northrup Grumman in 1996. Calling Westinghouse a "defense contractor" hasn't been true since the Clinton days.

I don't need any bogey-men, my side won, remember? I am merely refuting yours.

Michael,
if you don't trust the media where do you get your information? I'm also interested in your take about why the polls were so wrong and Nate Silver was right?

#29 - "Are you claiming that MSNBC was any more in the tank for Obama than Fox was for Romney?"

Not at all, Art. Just pointing out that while those on the Left point fingers at Fox, they conveniently overlook MSNBC, CBS, NBC, etc...

In a nutshell, the media simply is not to be trusted. Period.

Journalists have lost any and all credibility, and as a profession, rank right up there with sleazy lawyers.
